One of the most notable details about Fall 2010 New York Fashion Week was the “who is THAT?!” buzz surrounding catwalk newcomer, Chrishell Stubbs. The 18-year-old Turks and Caicos native seemingly hit the big time overnight! She went from being discovered at the Pig & Whistle on Hollywood Blvd. to walking in all the most coveted shows during her first Fashion Week. It’s not hard to understand the appeal—at 5’11" tall, with waist-length corkscrew curls, mile-long limbs, and huge, lime-green eyes, Stubbs looks like the impossibly stunning love child of Naomi Campbell and Noemi Lenoir. From Ralph Lauren (left) to Vera Wang, we take a look at some of the Ford model’s hottest runway moments this season.
At 3.1 Phillip Lim, Stubbs floated down the runway with barely-there makeup and curtain of curls flowing down her back.
At the John Bartlett show, Chrishell hit the runway in a menswear-inspired separates, a low ponytail and the barest hint of makeup (ie, mascara, rosy blush and a coral lip tint).
At Cynthia Steffe, Stubbs wore her signature curls sleek and straightened, with a clean center part.
Stubbs went against her delicate, sweet girl look at the Vivienne Westwood Gold Label show, wear she stalked the catwalk in black-outlined red lips and kohl-smudged eyes. Marionette-meets-goth!
On her Ford model comp card, Stubbs wears her natural curls wild and loose, and goes makeup-free except for a sexy smudge of teal shadow on her bottom lash line.
The models in Erin Fetherston’s show hit the runway in wigs that mimicked the designer’s signature hairstyle—long, straight strands and heavy bangs.
Stubbs rocked smoky eyes, pale pink lips and a wildly tousled mane at Tracy Reese’s overwhelming Black (yay!) runway show.
At Lacoste, Stubbs sported a decidedly retro, Denise-Huxtable-at-Hillman look: long curls swept into a side ponytail, winged eyeliner, and a shoulder-baring sweater with leggings.
The makeup was all things glam at Vera Wang—sooty, sultry eyes and nude lips—but the half-Bardot/half-Snookie coif was the real show-stopper!
