Fifteen years ago, models were mysterious. We’d see them strut down the runway, or their gorgeous gazes would meet ours from the pages of a magazine — but they were totally impenetrable in their flawlessness. We hardly ever heard them speak! It was tough was tough to think of them as living, breathing mortals.
