Model Behavior: Georgie Badiel

Georgie Badiel has only been modeling for a few seasons, but based on the number of runway shows under her belt, you'd think she was a veteran! Since her debut at London Fashion Week's Spring 2008 season, the Burkino Faso native has become one of fashion's most sought-after catwalk queens. With her take-no-prisoners walk and dazzling, deep-set eyes, this former pagaent queen (Miss Africa, 2005) has not only become a muse to some of fashion's biggest names, from House of Holland (left) to Diane von Furstenberg--she's also racked up an impressive number of high fashion editorials. We can't wait to see what the beautiful Ms. Badiel does next! In the meantime, check out some of our favorite runway moments from the gorgeous African gamine...

Georgie Badiel has only been modeling for a few seasons, but based on the number of runway shows under her belt, you’d think she was a veteran! Since her debut at London Fashion Week’s Spring 2008 season, the Burkino Faso native has become one of fashion’s most sought-after catwalk queens. With her take-no-prisoners walk and dazzling, deep-set eyes, this former pagaent queen (Miss Africa, 2005) has not only become a muse to some of fashion’s biggest names, from House of Holland (left) to Diane von Furstenberg—she’s also racked up an impressive number of high fashion editorials. We can’t wait to see what the beautiful Ms. Badiel does next! In the meantime, check out some of our favorite runway moments from the gorgeous African gamine…

02
Easy Breezy

At the 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring 2010 show, Georgie sported a breezy frock with metallic accents, and a sleek, pretty bun.

03
Mermaid Mama

At Diane Von Furstenberg’s Spring/Summer 2010 show, Badiel hit the runway wearing long, mermaid-esque extensions, aqua eyeshadow and under-the-sea-inspired hair accessories.

04
Lash Flash

Chado Ralph Rucci sent Badiel down his Spring 2010 runway wearing exaggerated faux lashes, glossy, nude lips and slick hair.

05
Walk the Line

During her Fashion Week debut, Badiel walked Jasper Conran’s Spring 2008 runway wearing heavy black liner, crushed berry-stained lips and a sheer wrap-dress.

06
‘Fro-tastic!

In Louis Vuitton’s infamous Spring 2009 show, designer Marc Jacobs sent models down his runway rocking enormous afro wigs and psychedelic white eyeshadow. We love it!

07
Alien Invasion

At Rick Owens Spring 2010 show, Bladiel hit the catwalk wearing a severe, pin-straight hairstyle and science fiction-y makeup (ie, a spray-painted forehead and alien eyeliner).

08
Plaits Please

At Oscar De La Renta’s Spring 2010 show, Bladiel wove colored bits of fabric into her pretty, Swiss Miss plaits.
