Summer wedding bells will be ringing for ballerina Misty Copeland and her fiancé Olu Evans. According to the New York Post, the 32-year-old, who is the principal ballerina for the American Ballet Theater, is currently putting the final touches on her possible July wedding.
The couple met at a nightclub 12 years ago when Olu’s cousin Taye Diggs encouraged him to approach her. Now they will be jumping the broom in a possible West Coast wedding.
“I can’t believe my life right now,” she told ESSENCE during her September cover interview.
Last year was an incredible year for the dancer who broke many barriers in the world of dance. She became the first African-American principal ballerina for ABT, she has her own doll, and a lucrative contract with Under Armour. There’s no better way to continue a fairytale than by living happily ever after with your prince.
We can’t wait to see what gown Misty will wear down the aisle, and we know she’ll be a lovely bride.
