If there is anyone who would know about tumultuous relationships it’s Mike Tyson. The former heavyweight champ admitted that he can identify with R&B star Chris Brown after his alleged confrontation with ex-girlfriend Rihanna in February, saying he can understand the passion that comes between two young people in love who may not know how to control their emotions, according to MTV.com.
In an interview to promote “Tyson,” a new documentary based on his life, in theaters now, Iron Mike told MTV, “My personal opinion about that is, he’s just a little baby,” referring to 19-year-old Brown.
Tyson, who has been at the heart of many controversial encounters with women, including alleged abuse towards his ex-wife, actress Robin Givens, and a rape conviction in the early 1990’s, admitted that he has hit women in the past.
“Do I think it’s right to beat up a woman? No—hell no,” he continued. “Have I hit a woman before? Hell yeah. Was I wrong? Hell yeah. I’m a product of that environment. Do I regret ever doing that? Hell yeah. Would I do it again? Never.”—WLW
