The potential First Lady kept the fashion bloggers guessing when she wore a striped, maroon, black-and-white-belted dress at a campaign stop in Detroit last week. Was the stylish dress a Narciso Rodriguez? A pricey Tracy Reese number? Nope, the designer was none other than H&M. Obama obviously likes wearing reasonably priced clothes, and rumor has it she prefers not to wear luxury items if photographed for a magazine. No word on the exact cost of the dress, but similar frocks are in the $40 range at the trendy discount store.
This isn’t the first time Senator Obama’s wife has caused a fashion frenzy. In June, she wore a $148 White House Black Market dress on ABC’s The View. The dresses sold out virtually overnight.
