Rep. John Lewis and his Democratic colleagues started the #NoBillNoBreak movement, now First Lady Michelle Obama is weighing in.
The House Democrats ended their gun control after a twenty-five hours siege of the floor. The sit-in was launched by Rep. John Lewis, who on Thursday tweeted, “We got in trouble. We got in the way. Good trouble. Necessary Trouble. By sitting-in, we were really standing up. #NoBillNoBreak.”
His tweet caught the attention of the entire nation, including the First Lady who responded to Lewis with her support. “So proud of everyone who stood up by sitting down,” tweeted FLOTUS.
Her following tweets prove that Madame FLOTUS has had “#Enough,” with the atrocities caused by gun violence:
We have grieved for too many children and wept for too many families after shootings. Chicago. Tucson. Newtown. Charleston. Orlando. #Enough— The First Lady (@FLOTUS) June 23, 2016
If there is even one step we can take to save just one life from gun violence, then we have a moral obligation to try. #Enough— The First Lady (@FLOTUS) June 23, 2016
It is time to come together and do something worthy of the memory of those we have lost and the future we want for our children. #Enough -mo— The First Lady (@FLOTUS) June 23, 2016
According to Politico, the House will adjourn after July 4th.
