Michael Strahan might be excited about his new gig at Good Morning America, but Live! will always hold a place in his heart.

The daytime host opened up to DuJour magazine about his departure and move to GMA, revealing, “I’m looking forward to moving to Good Morning America full-time, but I loved being at Live. It’s a great show, great people and I’m very fortunate to have been a part of it.”

Strahan has become one of televisions most popular daytime hosts, a career he started after 15 years with the New York Giants.

The Emmy winner’s charisma and improvisation is something that fans and colleagues have definitely noticed and gravitated toward.

“I love spontaneity and uncertainty. Not knowing what’s going to happen from second to second keeps you very present,” Strahan tells the magazine.

Even Michael Gelman, executive producer of Live!, admits that Strahahn’s energy is what initially caught his attention.

“Michael has charisma, a big, warm, playful personality, and has the rare ability to be himself on camera. But he also has that special hard-to-define quality, that ‘x-factor’ that makes him stand out.”

Strahan made his full-time Good Morning America debut on Tuesday.
