Looks like Michael Jordan has different ideas for Space Jam 2, if it ever happens.
Currently, LeBron James is the frontrunner for the lead role in the possible sequel to the 1996 live-action animated sports comedy, but Jordan thinks the Clippers’ Blake Griffin would make a great casting choice. Jordan was filmed telling a group of young basketball players his plans for the sequel and Complex notes that it just so happens Griffin has a Jordan-brand sponsorship, so maybe that has something to do with Jordan’s decision.
Still, Griffin isn’t a bad choice. Like LeBron James, Griffin has a little acting experience and audiences got a glimpse of his comedic skills in an episode of Broad City. James and Griffin are both great choices for the lead role, but with so much buzz over LeBron taking the reigns in the sequel, it seems pretty unlikely that those behind the film would reconsider unless James decides to pass on the role.
