Selma, the Martin Luther Kind biopic chronicling the civil rights leader’s fight for voting rights is set to hit limited theaters on Christmas Day with plans to expand January 9.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, shooting is currently underway in Georgia and Alabama.
The film boasts an all-star cast including David Oyelowo, Carmen Ejogo, Wendell Pierce and Oprah Winfrey as Anne Lee Cooper.
The Ava DuVernay film is being produced by Oprah Winfrey along with Brad Pitt’s Plan B and Cloud Eight Films.
