Mariah Carey’s estranged sister Alison was arrested Friday after offering an undercover cop sexual favors in exchange for money.
Alison Carey was arrested in a Saugerties, New York hotel, where police were conducting an undercover investigation. Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra described Alison as “transient” and stated that she told police she was related to pop diva Mariah Carey. Police allege that they set up the sting after seeing Alison post an ad for her services online.

A source revealed that Mariah and her sister have been estranged for years, adding, “Mariah takes care of her entire family and I’m sure this is very painful for her.” A report from the local paper, Daily Freeman, said that in one ad Alison wrote, “Im a pretty lady looking for guys who are looking to have some fun and get into a world of pleasure that other woman just cant provide two you, woman with the ability to make the earth move for you and to get you to see stars, oh yea with me its, ITS SUCH A SWEET,SWEET FANTASY BABY, WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES I COME AND TAKE YOU ON AND ON,” referencing the lyrics to her sister’s hit song “Fantasy.”
Saugerties Police Chief also added that there was reason to believe that those who’d had encounters with Alison should see their doctor. Alison was arraigned and sent to Ulster County Jail, she is due in court August 30.
