A Colorado man has been sentenced to five years in prison and three years probation for igniting a bomb outside of a Colorado Springs NAACP office.
In January, a pipe bomb was detonated outside of the building where the offices were located. No injuries were reported and minimal damage was done to the exterior of the building.

One month after the bombing, 44-year-old Thaddeus Murphy was arrested, but he told police that he was targeting his accountant’s nearby office, claiming that his accounting wouldn’t return his calls. However, NAACP officials say that the accounting firm has been closed for 20 years.
Reuters reports that Murphy, a convicted felon, was charged with damaging a building used for interstate commerce by explosion and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
