Before Jackie Robinson made a name for himself in the big leagues, there were the unsung African-American heroes of the Negro Leagues of baseball.  The importance of their legacy is undoubtedly noteworthy and artists like Kanye West and newcomer GLC will lend their voices to honor them. The two will appear on the compilation CD “True to the Game, Volume 1″ set to be released on March 24.  Macy Gray, Marsha Ambrosius (formerly of Floetry) and Talib Kweli are just a few of the artists who signed on to support the project. Part of the proceeds will support funding for the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, Missouri.—PS
