Singer Macy Gray doesn’t take being misquoted lightly and says comments that she had a major crush on President Barack Obama and wanted to give birth to his children were taken out of context. The New York Post first reported her supposed crush quoting her as saying, “I’m in love with Barack Obama. Why am I not Michelle? Why can’t I be her.”
Macy said the quote was said in character for her role on the new show “Head Case,” according to US Weekly. “I respect and love our new President and his family just as you do and would never disrespect them in any way,” the singer said in her statement. Glad she cleared that up!
