There have long been rumors that 2020 Presidential hopeful Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) has been dating activist and actress Rosario Dawson.
They are rumors no more. Dawson herself
confirmed to TMZ on Thursday that she is indeed the “boo” that Booker was referring to last month during an interview on the
Breakfast Club when he revealed he was dating someone special.
“Yes, very much so,” Dawson said with a smile when asked if the rumors were true. She added that things were working out “wonderful” so far, noting that Booker is “a wonderful human being.”
“It’s good to spend some time together when we can,” she said. “We’re very busy.”
Dawson is also standing with Booker, noting that he would make an amazing president.
But that doesn’t mean there are any immediate plans for Dawson to be first lady.
“I have no idea,” she said when asked about a possible engagement. “I am just grateful to be with someone that I respect and love and admire so much who is so brilliant and kind and caring and loving.”
Dawson has long been known for her political outreach,
co-founding Voto Latino, an organization that works to empower the Latino vote. In the 2016 elections, she was a staunch advocate for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt) during the primary election, but now it appears as if Booker has all the attention, as she pointed out a Booker campaign pin on her purse during the
TMZ interview.
Although the news surprised probably no one, Twitter still came in with the reactions for our enjoyment, with many ready to welcome Dawson as a potential first lady, while others voiced jealousy at Booker’s relationship with the stunning actress.
