There’s only one headlining act that has the 43rd Montreux Jazz festival abuzz. Five-time Grammy winning songstress Lauryn Hill will perform at the event in Switzerland which takes place between July 3-18, according to RollingStone.com.
On July 11, Hill, the mother of five, will command the stage at the Stravinski Auditorium following a tribute to Nina Simone, featuring Dianne Reeves, Lizz Wright and Angelique Kidjo. Hill’s last public appearance was in August 2007, when she gave a free, outdoor Brooklyn concert singing her classics as well as a number of Bob Marley songs. Last August marked the tenth anniversary of Hill’s blockbuster solo debut,“The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.”—WLW
