Anthony will play Ronnie DeVoe’s mother Flo; Calhoun will play Ralph Tresvant’s mother Patricia; Brown will play Michael Bivins’ mother Shirley; Carson will play Ricky Bell’s mother Mae; and McCree will play Bobby Brown‘s mother Carole. The ladies join an already impressive line up that includes newcomers Bryshere Gray (Empire) as well as R&B crooners Elijah Kelly of The Wiz Live! and Luke James.
All of the real-life New Edition group members are on board with the project and have reportedly been working with the young men who will be playing them in the film to ensure that their portrayals as accurate as possible.
While the film’s release date has not yet been confirmed, something tells us that this highly-anticipated project will be well worth the wait.
