Today’s topic: Kids Growing Too Big For Their Room Dear Kim, I love your show and thank you ESSENCE for allowing us to write in for advice from Ms. Myles. Dilemma: My 7-year-old twin daughters share a 10′ x 9′ room. It lacks storage and as you can imagine there’s only so much you can get in a 10′ x 9′ room. Currently, they have bunk beds (which was a way to conserve space), a six-drawer dresser and mirror, a toy chest, and a book case. I’ve utilized storage under their bed, closet, etc. but they are running out of storage space and their toy chest is overflowing. Can you please recommend some practical and inexpensive storage solutions for the small space that I’m working with? KIM MYLES: How about dedicating one wall to storage by hanging square or round baskets in a grid. Affix their bottoms to the wall, and you’ll have simple cubbies that allow your girls to store toys, books and treasures in a fun display. Read more:
