KFC Australia is in some hot oil stateside as viewers of a commercial promoting the company's Cricket Survival Guide hit the web are considering the advertisement racist. The ad shows a white cricket fan feeling a little uneasy due to being in a sea of Black West Indian cricket fans, Caribbean music playing in the background. To ease the situation he hands his fellow cricket watchers a bucket of KFC chicken and everything is all right at once. "It is a light-hearted reference to the West Indian cricket team ..." a KFC Autralia rep said, according to TMZ. "The ad was reproduced online in the US without KFC's permission, where we are told a culturally-based stereotype exists, leading to the incorrect assertion of racism." You be the judge.
