Kent State University student Devin Moore passed away on Wednesday while playing basketball, according to Fox 8 News.

The senior broadcast journalism student was in the university’s recreation center when he collapsed. Moore was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and was awarded with their 4th district undergraduate of the year award in April.

Students gathered on campus for a vigil in Moore’s honor and to grieve the sudden loss.

In a statement, Kent State University said: Our thoughts and prayers are with Devin Moore’s family and members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, they grieve his tragic passing. Out of respect for his family, we will provide no further information surrounding his death. Support for Devin’s many friends, peers and other students in the Kent State community who are grieving his loss is also available.

“A brother died playing basketball tonight,” said a Jared Williams on Twitter. “Life is entirely short, but I think he definitely lived the best one he could, glad I got to know a great brother in 8th grade, RIP Devin Moore, lost but never forgotten.”
