The album sold nearly 77,000 units during its first week and also earned Kelly the #3 spot on the Billboard Top 200 chart. We’re not surprised though, since the album’s hit single “Motivation” stayed at the #1 spot for seven consecutive weeks and recently went gold.
Kelly told ESSENCE.com exclusively that she wanted this album to boldly show a side of her we haven’t seen before. “I wanted to make a statement on this record,” she said. “I want people to know that I’m here, that this is the most revealing record I’ve ever done, that this is the record, here I am.”
