Pulliam appeared on The Wendy Williams Show this morning where she discussed the sexual assault allegations surrounding her Cosby Show costar.
Former Cosby Show star Keisha Knight Pulliam has joined the list of those voicing their support toward Bill Cosby amidst the growing sexual assault scandal.
Pulliam appeared on The Wendy Williams Show today, the morning after she was “fired” from Celebrity Apprentice for not reaching out to Cosby for a financial donation. “None of us were there; there are two sides to a story, and we are in America, and it is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law,” she told Williams.
“It’s a horrible situation however you slice it, but I feel that once the dust settles, then people will recognize how much he’s given to our society with all of his work,” she continued. “You can’t take that away.”
She talked happy times from the set of The Cosby Show, recalling one instance where Cosby brought vocalist Marian Anderson to the set so that Pulliam, who was studying at the time, could meet her.
“We were the first family that, no matter what race, religion, what have you, you saw yourself in,” she said. “We saw how much alike we were than we were different. The man I know and love is who I just described.”
Before her dismissal from Apprentice, Pulliam revealed that she hadn’t spoken to Cosby in a long time. “For me to pick up the phone, having not talked to [him] for five years, except for when we run into each other for a Cosby event, I feel that’s not my place to do,” she said defending her decision not to reach out to him to raise money for her charity. In all, Pulliam raised $25,000 for her Kamp Kizzy charity for girls.
