Last week, George W. Bush expressed to Matt Lauer on NBC's "Today" show that he "didn't appreciate" Kanye West labeling him a racist during the Hurricane Katrina catastrophe. Kanye had a sit down with Lauer this week and apologized for the comment.
Here's what you had to say:
Terina commented via Facebook: "He shouldn't have apologized. I'm from New Orleans. Kanye simply said what us as people of a major disaster would have said."
Lynn wrote via Facebook: "No one wants to be called a racist and Kanye only felt empathy because of the backlash from his poor judgment relating to Taylor Swift."

“George Bush doesn’t care about Black people,” Kanye West said five years ago. We wonder if he ever thought those words would loom over him the way they have. Last week, George W. Bush expressed to Matt Lauer on NBC’s “Today” show that he “didn’t appreciate” Kanye West labeling him a racist during the Hurricane Katrina Catastrophe. Kanye had a sit down with Lauer this week and apologized for the comment. “I would tell George Bush in my moment of frustration, I didn’t have the grounds to call him a racist,” Kanye Told Lauer. “I believe that in a situation of high emotion like that, we as human beings don’t always choose the right words.” Kanye has expressed empathy for Bush, especially after being called a racist himself, following the MTV VMAs stage-storming incident. It seems Dubya is willing to put the whole thing behind him. “I’m not a hater,” Bush said. “I didn’t hate Kanye West. I was talking about an environment in which people were willing to say things that hurt. Nobody wants to be called a racist if in your heart you believe in equality of races.” While West and Bush may be cool for now, Ye pointed his wrath at Matt Lauer and the “Today” show for playing footage of him interrupting Taylor Swift’s speech at the MTV VMAs, while he was speaking, tweeting, “I feel very alone, very used, very tortured, very forced, very misunderstood, very hollow, very, very misused,” and “I don’t mess with Matt Lauer or the Today Show … and that’s a very nice way for me to put it!” Lauer played the incident on the show. Watch the clip and tell us: Do you think it was unfair for the “Today” show to play the clip while Kanye was speaking?
