A Black couple in Dallas, Texas, Eric and Renee Cottrell-Brown, are now the new owners of Johnson Products, a hair care line including well-known African-American staples such as Ultra Sheen, Afro Sheen, and Gentle Treatment, according to The Dallas Morning News. The company was recently sold by Procter &Gamble Company. It was founded in 1954 in Chicago by George Ellis Johnson Senior and later became the first Black-run company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. A local private group also has ownership over the company but the Browns will lead the business.—JW
