As we await the results of the 2020 presidential election, let us take this moment to celebrate the milestones along the way. As of November 4, Joe Biden has received over 70 million popular votes for the U.S. presidency, making him the most voted for candidate of all time. The former record was set by Barack Obama in 2008.
We also have to point out that there are still more ballots to be counted in the following states: Georgia, Pennsylvania, Nevada and North Carolina. Biden is currently in the lead as far as popular votes are concerned, with a whopping 72,263,868 according to CBS News. President Trump is behind him with 68,508,167 votes.
The popular vote is not what matters most though, though they are directly connected to the electoral votes, which ultimately help determine who the next president will be. Biden is leading the votes there as well, with 264 votes to President Trump’s 214. The winner of the race, and president, will be whoever reaches 270 votes first.
