On Friday a Los Angeles judge approved Jermaine Jackson’s request to legally change his surname to “Jacksun.”  The 58-year-old singer filed the request back in November of last year for “artistic reasons.”

His attorney Bret D. Lewis says Jacksun is currently performing with his brothers in Europe and doesn’t know whether he will elaborate on the reasons for his name change.

Jermaine Jacksun spoke publicly about wanting to end the Jackson family feud over his late brother Michael’s estate back in August, when he posted to his Twitter account about rescinding his signature from a letter sent to the estate. However, the singer explained that the name change had nothing to with recent family disputes.
