According to Playbill, Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks are currently shooting the Alicia Keys executive produced film, Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete in Brooklyn.
The film, written by Michael Starrbury, follows two inner-city kids who are left to fend for themselves after their mothers are taken away by authorities.
Inevitable also co-stars Jeffrey Wright and Anthony Mackie, and is directed and produced by George Tillman Jr., the man responsible for directing Soul Food, Men of Honor and Notorious. Other producers on the project include Rachel Cohen, Jana Edlebaum, Bob Teitel and Susan Lewis, who serves as co-executive producer with Keys.
Hudson recently signed up to star in NBC’s musical show Smash, while Jordin Sparks is gearing up to begin promoting Sparkle, in theaters on August 17. Keys, on the other hand, is in full album mode these days — prepping to release her fifth studio album later this year.
