The rap star revealed he's planning to scale back his workload to parent.
Jay-Z wants to take a moment to enjoy fatherhood and all the joy that comes with it. That’s the latest from the rap star, according to Billboard. He told the press that he’s planning to put music on hold to focus on Blue Ivy.
“I thought I would be more inspired to have all these new feelings to talk about, but I really just want to hang out with my daughter,” he said. “I want to enjoy this time for what it is. I’m sure that bug to get back in the studio will come back at some point.”
Just weeks ago, Jay-Z confessed on Oprah’s Masterclass that he’ll more than likely have a spoiled daughter. But said he’s taking his parenting cues from his mom. “I imagine I’ll take things I learned from my mom and things I’ve learned from raising my nephews and apply that.”
Despite putting creating new music on hold, Jay-Z has already committed to a number of concerts from now through the end of the summer. In June he and Rihanna will co-headline the opening Olympic concert in London and he will headline Philly’s two-day music festival, “Budweiser: Made in America,” this Labor Day weekend.
