Jay-Z Dedicates Song to Daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, Reveals Miscarriage

Just two days after Beyonce and Jay-Z welcomed daughter Blue Ivy, Jay-Z has released a song dedicated to his “greatest creation.”

“Glory ft. B.I.C.” was released on his blog Life + Times today and revealed a whole slew of truths about his and Beyonce’s relationship, including suffering a miscarriage.

In the heartfelt song, the proud papa raps:

“The most amazing feeling I feel/ Words can’t describe what a feeling, for real/ Baby, I’ll paint the sky blue/ My greatest creation was you…”

He also adds more personal details, like where Blue Ivy was conceived (in Paris — a day before Beyonce shot her album package). In the most revealing part of the song, Jay-Z shares that he and Beyonce suffered a miscarriage. He raps, “Last time the miscarriage was so tragic/ we was afraid you disappeared/ but naw, baby, you magic.”

The song, produced by Pharrell Williams, also features a cameo by Blue Ivy, who cries at the end.
