1. Jada Pinkett Smith has some thoughts about Tiffany Haddish's Golden Globes snub, but she's not sharing. The actress tweeted, "I have so much to say on why @TiffanyHaddish was not nominated for a Globe... but I won't ." (Twitter)

2. San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee is dead at 65. The mayor's office confirmed that Lee, who became the city's first Asian American mayor, passed away Tuesday morning after collapsing at home. Lee's friends, family, and colleagues were by his side. (CBS San Francisco)

3. The death toll in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria may be much higher than believed. The official death toll has been reported as 64, but following a recent report, the number could be as high as 1,052. (NY Times)

4. Ludacris and wife Eudoxie are determined to have a baby boy. The rapper and actor confirmed that the pair will try to have a son in 2018. The couple have a daughter together and Ludacris has two daughters from previous relationships. (People)

5. Mo'Nique turned 50 on Monday and celebrated the day by busting a move. The actress and comedian took to Instagram to show off her birthday dance and drop nuggets of wisdom as she turned "50 years young." (Instagram

6. A new video series, Alternate Endings, Radical Beginnings,  is highlighting HIV/AIDS in the Black community. Erin Christovale and Vivian Crockett called on friends like Reina Gossett and Mykki Blanco to discuss the intersection of Blackness and AIDS and challenge the perception of what people with AIDS look like, honoring those who fought for rights when the epidemic began. 7. Kenya Barris and Alec Baldwin are teaming up for a new ABC comedy. The series, also co-written by Grown-ish writer Julie Bean, focuses on an aging TV star forced to move in with his liberal daughter, her girlfriend, and their child. (The Hollywood Reporter)

8. The Rock and his partner, Lauren Hashian, are expecting a baby girl. The Rock shared the announcement on Instagram, adding, "Once again, big daddy is completely surrounded by beautiful estrogen and loving, powerful female mana. All girls. One dude. And a boy dog. 9. The mother of NBA star Chris Bosh is being investigated for drug trafficking. Texas police raided a home belonging to Bosh, where Freida Bosh and several others were found. No arrests were made, but a large amount of drug paraphernalia was seized, indicating possible trafficking. (CBS Sports)
