Howard University students came together yesterday to lend their voices — and hands — to the “don’t shoot” demonstrations taking place both in Ferguson and on social media (#dontshoot) in response to the fatal shooting of Michael Brown.

According to an eyewitness, Brown was holding his hands up in the air yelling “don’t shoot” when the police officer took his life on August 9.

“Powerful picture we took today at Howard University #DONTSHOOT,” tweeted Howard University student Megan Sims following a rally on campus on Wednesday.
