Another awards season has come and gone, but before we bid adieu to the hype that it brings, we’re taking inventory of the best hairstyles from the red carpet.

At the start of the season, we saw our favorite starlets arrive at the Golden Globes in blonde buns, like Mary J. Blige’s, and wispy layers, like Amber Riley’s. The NAACP Awards welcomed stylish strands, like Jill Scott’s new asymetrical bob; later, at the Academy Awards, natural hair reigned supreme, as Esperanza Spalding and Viola Davis flaunted their kinky curls beautifully.
