Every season, frugal fashionistas wait patiently to find out what luxury fashion brand will create a diffusion line for H&M. This fall it’s Lanvin, one of Paris’ oldest fashion houses, NYTimes.com reports. “I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection,” Alber Elbaz, the brand’s creative director, said, “But what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public.” Perhaps it’s that the fashion industry is still feeling the effects of a shrunken global economy that made a mass-market line appealing to Elbaz. Who knows? Either way, we can’t wait to see the collection, which we can preview on November 2 in a film to be shown on hm.com. The clothes hit H&M stores on November 23. H&M is a leader in designer collaborations. Previous collections, created by Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Matthew Williamson and others, have caused shopping frenzies in seasons past.
