What’s the status of American arts in an era of change? The Apollo Theater’s Salon Series, which kicks off on March 28, seeks to unveil the answer with a sequence of stage performances from talent like spoken word artist like Jessica Care Moore as well as filmmaker and actor Mario Van Peebles. Featuring an array of musicians and artists as an effort to test new programming for the world-renowned theater, the series will introduce a diverse set of contemporary performances each weekend in April.-PS
