Angela Bassett, the woman behind some of your favorite roles, turns 53 today. She’s an acting veteran and a model woman for everyone to follow.

You may have first noticed her back in 1993’s “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” but she had been acting long before then, appearing in “Boys n the Hood,” TV’s “227” and the “Cosby Show.”
