Since January, Halle Berry has been spotted all over the globe wearing a beautiful emerald engagement ring. Despite the uncertainty of its maker and cost, ABC is reporting it was made for a queen. Fiancé Olivier Martinez commissioned the ring last year by his Parisian neighbor, Robert Mazlo.
Mazlo happens to come from a family of jewelry artists who design pieces for royalty. It’s “a one-of-a-kind piece and cannot be replaced,” the jeweler told People. The 4-carat emerald in the center originates from “closed-down mines in Muzo, Colombia and the color is perfect.”
Just yesterday, after months of speculation, Martinez confirmed that he plans to marry the Hollywood actress. “Yes, of course it’s true,” he told Miami.com at the opening of his Miami restaurant, Villa Azur.
The couple has yet to confirm a wedding date.
