A man accidentally shot himself in New York City last Wednesday then blamed the incident on an imaginary black man.

You really can’t make this up!...Or actually you can, it appears!

New York City Police arrested Arthur Palombo last week after they determined that a gunshot he’d suffered at a Bronx Park was infact self-inflicted, according to The New York Daily News.

Palombo, who is Hispanic, claimed that “a black man with a bald head” had shot him over a dispute of a gun sale. He said they’d argued over the price when they met up in the park.

But investigators soon figured out that Palombo was lying, and he eventually admitted that the gun went off accidentally in his jacket pocket.

He has been charged with weapons possession and for filing a false report. His bail was set for $10,000 when he was arraigned Friday.

Welp!
