'Go There' Wednesday: Red-Orange Lips

Red lipstick is always sexy, but the traditional red lip (you know, the super-deep, ultra-vampy Old Hollywood hue) can be a tad too rich for Spring. Leave it to Kelis to give us the perfect example of a scarlet hue that's fresh enough to work for the sunny season: Orange-red! Why didn't we think of this before? It does the "fancy" thing that red lipstick's supposed to do, but the orange undertones give the hue a lighter, brighter, slightly tropical feel. We're huge fans of Sephora Lip Attitude Lipstick in Brick Imagine ($12), a semi-sheer brick red/tangerine; and Givenchy Rouge Interdit Shine Lipstick in Sun Shine ($28), a golden-coral-ish crimson that comes in the hottest tube we've ever seen.
