Gladys Knight will officially join the judging panel on Centric’s newest talent reality show Apollo Live, a remix on the venue’s traditional “Amateur Night.”
According to NY Post, the Empress of Soul and former Dancing with the Stars cast member will be the lead judge joining Doug E. Fresh and Michael Bivins (of New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe) at the judges table.
Apollo Live is executive produced by Jamie Foxx and is hosted by Tony Rock.
With Knight’s illustrious career, which spans more than 50 years, her commentary will be extremely valuable. To her credit, she’s earned four Grammy awards, the BET Lifetime Achievement Award and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
If anything, Knight knows a thing or two about star quality. It should be interesting to see what tips and feedback she gives to the contestants.
