Since stepping onto the scene with “Gladys Knight and the Pips” in 1952, the talented singer has captivated our hearts and ears with soul-stopping vocals and lyrics that even bring us to tears (ladies, can you say: “If I Were your Woman?”).
She’s our girl next door, our sister in the choir, and that aunt on the phone saying “child, you will get through this.” She forever reminds us that Black women can be strong, talented, and most of all, real.
