Black women are leaving their marks everywhere. Girard College, a private school for academically talented students who come from limited family resources, announced yesterday that the institution will have their first Black president, according to Philly.com. Autumn Adkins, 36, is scheduled to arrive on Girard’s campus in July to head the Philadelphia based school. Adkins has earned degrees at the University of Virginia and Columbia and has a number of years experience as a teacher and administrator at various private schools.-JW
