According to Deadline, the hour-long pilot, which is expected to air in August, “chronicles the work and family life of a Black woman who is the host of a popular Atlanta-based talk show host in the vein of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

The Akil’s are the same power couple behind hit TV shows like The Game and Girlfriends. Salim Akil also directed Jumping the Broom, and the highly-anticipated film, Sparkle.

Next up for Union is a starring role in Think Like a Man (out April 20), co-starring Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, and Michael Ealy.
