Depsite her run-ins with the law, Inga “Foxy Brown” Marchand knows trouble don’t last always. However, Brown, who has never given a reason why she’s made some of the choices that often led her astray, sheds light on her tumultous relationships with men. In a blog written for Russell Simmons’s Web site Gloabalgrind.com, Brown says she still cries over the absence of her father. 

In her exclusive message titled “Black Girl Lost,” the Brooklyn-bred rapper reveals that a father’s presence can set the tone for a woman’s future romantic liaisons. “Once Daddy disappears,” she writes, “and his lil’ girl’s in tears, any dude that says ‘you’re pretty,’ sounds like music to her ears.”—PS
