A former Waller County Jail guard named Rafael Zuniga told the lawyer of Geneva Reed-Veal, Sandra Bland’s mother, that he falsified entries on a jail log, indicating that he had checked on Bland in the hour before she was found dead when in fact he hadn’t, according to the Houston Chronicle.
