Vogue magazine’s March 2009 cover model, Mrs. Michelle Obama, became the second First Lady after Hillary Clinton to be featured on the cover of the high-fashion glossy. Photographed by Annie Leibovitz at the Hay-Adams Hotel in Washington, D.C., Mrs. Obama appeared wearing a magenta dress by Jason Wu, who designed her inaugural ball gown. Leibovitz, who is a famed celebrity and fashion photographer, recalls the shoot with Mrs. Obama as unforgettable, according to YahooNews.com.
“The most extraordinary thing that she does is she lets you be yourself. She wants you to be yourself, and there’s no airs. It’s great—she’s smart, she’s beautiful,” says Leibovitz to Usmagazine.com.—QS
