Designer Elie Tahari announced the creation of his Michelle Obama-inspired dress on CNN’s “American Morning” last Thursday, according to Women’s Wear Daily. In reference to Mrs. Obama’s fashion sense, the designer noted, “She has great style, and what’s great about her, is she is dressing like everybody else can dress.” The “Michelle” dress will bare a floral print designed with a sleek, exposed shoulder. “I noticed when I saw her that she wears bare shoulders and she has great arms,” said Tahari. The dress will retail for a whopping $598 starting this July, and solid plum version will release for $498 later in October.—LB
