Darren Wilson has been named as the Ferguson cop who shot the unarmed teen.
After promising to release the name of the officer involved in Michael Brown’s murder, the Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson followed through.
Darren Wilson, a police officer with six years experience, has been identified as the officer involved, according to a press conference Jackson held in front of the now defunct QuikTrip. Jackson told reporters and protestors that Wilson had a clean record while on the force.
Jackson also stated that at the same gas station, on the day of Brown’s murder, there was a “strong-armed robbery,” that Brown and his friend, Dorian Johnson were involved in. Police released security camera stills from robbery, noting that the 911 call came in around 11:51 a.m. Wilson was the responding officer on the scene, and according to reports, by 12:04 p.m., the shooting occured and Brown was dead.
