Fantasia Misses Performances of 'The Color Purple'

Just last week, Fantasia wowed audiences with her spirited performance as Celie in "The Color Purple" at Los Angeles' Pantages Theatre. By Friday night, she had to sit out.  According to the Los Angeles Times, the American Idol winner missed Friday's show and on the advice of her doctors, she did not perform in the Saturday or Sunday shows either. The culprit? An inflammation of her vocal cords.  Fantasia is scheduled to resume performances tomorrow night.
