Who runs the world? Girls!
Sunday marked the third annual International Day of The Girl, created by the UN to raise awareness about all issues concerning gender inequality around the world.
The initiative comes at a perfect time as First Lady Michelle Obama promotes her Let Girls Learn campaign, which aims to expand access to education for more than 62 million girls around the world and encourages American girls to take advantage of their opportunities.
The First Lady tweeted Sunday a link to a “girl power” music playlist on Spotify featuring inspiring tunes from Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross and Billie Holiday.
Being a girl is a special experience but one that certainly comes with its own set of challenges.
