Last night’s Primetime Emmy Awards had an unusually high number of opportunities for Black women everywhere to rejoice.
It was hard not to let out a “yessssss” as we watched Regina King snag her award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie.
Our hearts swelled as Uzo Aduba won Best Actress in Comedy and Drama for the same role.
And we’re not quite over how Viola Davis spoke such truth as she became the first Black woman to ever win an Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
Fans everywhere got to witness the beauty of sisterhood, and how talent can break down barriers. It was Black Girl Magic at it’s finest.
So, what was your favorite moment? Was it Viola’s historic win, Viola and Taraji’s hug, Uzo Adoba’s win or Regina King’s win? Let us know!
